HLA-PA Exhibit Booth at Pennsylvania Farm Show, Harrisburg, January 9 - 16, 2010
The HLA-PA Information Booth at the 2010 PA Farm Show was staffed by 28 members of various chapters and/or "significant others". It is estimated that over 400,000 people visited the Show. Many of the activities centered around animals, of course, but there were many exhibitors of commercial products and services and a large section featuring PA food products, including the extensive Food Court which sold many of these items. The only other hearing-related company was Hamilton Relay with their new CapTel phone among other items
Although many more stopped at our booth for information and support, over 100 people signed our Visitors Log, many of them asking for a subscription to HearSay. We displayed and distributed an extensive assortment of HLAA publications and pamphlets, a listing of PA chapters and contacts, and as a service to A.G. Bell, we displayed and distributed many of their items. It was a significant and successful outreach activity for HLA-PA thanks to Steve Schultz. Those that participated were unanimously positive - and of course everyone had ideas to improve our Booth next time.
Below is a picture of our booth and of volunteer Barb Beard in the booth.
